Genesis means beginning and it's the name of the 1st book of the Bible. It's called Genesis because it details the beginning of so many things like the universe, the sun, moon & stars, the earth and all that's in it. Genesis tells us about the beginning of man and woman and how sin came into the world and also about the Creator's redemptive plan to restore man back into relationship with Him. So understanding the book of Genesis is absolutely important because it also explains the beginning of marriage and what it means and goes through great length to explain what righteousness looks like compared to evil. This is why the enemy is so adamant about doing whatever can be done to discredit and mock Genesis. Genesis is the foundation book that all of Scripture is built upon so the enemy seeks to destroy it.
